Cycling revolution in Berlin: Bicycle star trip ensures massive traffic chaos!

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, the eagerly awaited bicycle star trip finds in Berlin under the motto "All on the bike! For the cycling revolution!" instead of. The event, organized by the ADFC (General German Bicycle Club), usually attracts a high number of participants, this year over 10,000 cyclists are expected. The star trip will take place from 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and consists of a total of 20 routes, which lead to the big star from various starting points in Brandenburg and Berlin. In order to meet the large number of cyclists, the police are planning extensive measures. The event will not only take advantage of the streets, but also sections of the highways. Motor vehicle traffic on motorways 115 (AVUS) and 100 is blocked in both directions during the event, and alternative routes for drivers are set up. Cyclists are only allowed to drive on the highways at certain junctions: Spanish Allee, Oberlandstraße and Tempelhofer Damm are accessible, with both driveway and departure permitted on Oberlandstrasse.

The police are trying to lift the traffic blocks again as soon as possible to restore the flow of traffic. A smooth handling of this popular cycling event can therefore be viewed as an important step towards more sustainable mobility in Berlin.
