Plaster walk in the Allende district: Together against racism!

On October 17, 2025, the Benn team Allende district, the Center for Democracy and the Register Treptow-Köpenick will organize a plaster walk in the Allendend district together. The meeting point is at 4:30 p.m. at the Köpenick Hospital (DRK Kliniken) on the south side. The aim of the event is to remove racist, discriminatory and extremely right -wing smearings and stickers from the district. The necessary material for scraping and removing is provided by the organizers.

The plaster walk ends around 6 p.m. in a warm place that offers the opportunity to exchange and network. Participation in the campaign is free of charge. If you have any questions or for later participation, interested parties can contact the organizers on 0176 - 58 88 50 44. The background to this initiative is the “Berlin developing new neighborhoods” program (Benn), which has been supporting neighborhood coexistence in accommodation for refugees since 2017, as [berlin.de] (https://www.berlin.de/ba-treptow-koepenick/aktuelles/PressMageilungen/2025/Pressemage Department 1599854.php).

Commitment to better cooperation

Benn not only makes a positive contribution to the neighborhood for the cleaning walk, but also promotes numerous ideas and initiatives that strengthen the cohesion in the community. These include cooking evenings with neighbors, creative cafes and garden projects. The neighborhood office at Pohlestraße 4 in Berlin-Köpenick offers organizational and financial support for various neighborhood activities, as can be seen on the website of benn-allende-viertel.de.

The office also serves as a contact point for racist and discriminatory incidents, whereby reports can be made anonymously and no personal data must be given. This procedure shows the commitment of Benn to promote respectful and tolerant coexistence in the Allende district.

Fight against racism and discrimination

The efforts of countering racism and discrimination are not only possible to observe locally. At the nationwide level, the project "Municipal Alliances and Strategies against Racism and Hate" has been funded by the integration officer, Minister of State Reem Alabali-Radovan, since 2022. The aim of this project is to support employees and managers in municipal administration in dealing with racist hostility. Around 80 municipal alliances nationwide that initiated specific measures against racism and hatred were adapted to local conditions, according to the information from [Integrationsbeittragte.de] (https://www.integrationskreuftragte.de/ib-de/integrationspabbeit-in-den--äbenung/kommunale-allianzen- against-rassism-und-hass-und-hass-und-hass-und-hassism

These alliances should give those affected the necessary hand tools in the administration in order to be able to react appropriately to hatred and racism. These include new service agreements and strategy concepts for anti -racist administration. A strong foundation for a safe and equal society is promoted by overarching networks of local government, police, judiciary and civil society.
