Psychotherapy training: Demonstration for fair financing in Berlin
Psychotherapy training: Demonstration for fair financing in Berlin
shock wave of protests before the Bundestag!
On October 16, 2024, around 300 committed psychotherapy students flocked to Berlin to fight for an important concern: financing their further education. Under the combative banner of the German Psychotherapist Association (DPTV), they together with numerous representatives from chambers, associations and universities request an immediate legal regulation that ensures qualified learning in the field of psychotherapy. "We need legal regulations so that qualified psychotherapeutic training can continue in the future," emphasizes Dr. Anke Pielsticker, the deputy federal chairman of the DPTV, makes the urgency of the Situation clear.
The demonstration was not only a platform for the students, but also a call to politics. The MPs Dirk Heidenblut (SPD) and Alexander Föhr (CDU) were solidarity and stood by the demonstrators. The event, organized by the Psychology Facial Conference (Psyfako) and the PTW Forum, brought the heated demands for immediate measures to the table. It was more than just words - it was about the future of psychotherapy in Germany.
indispensable practice qualification!
"For the activity in a practice, specific knowledge and skills in diagnostics and therapy planning are needed - you can only learn that in a guided outpatient activity," explained Dr. Pielsticker with emphasis. Your appeal to politics: A clear regulation for further training in practice and further training practices must be created! "Further training in a further training ambulance or a practice is therefore a compulsory component of further training as a specialist psychotherapist," she added.
The alarm bells ring out loud! Dr. Pielsticker urged: "We ask all those responsible: Create the necessary legal regulations - and now, even in the health care law (GVSG)! We will otherwise lose the urgently needed psychotherapeutic offspring, because there is no further training without further training."
urgent need for apprenticeships!
The situation is dramatic: "Over 2000 practices would already like to offer further training. There are funding for a few places in some Associations Health Insurance Physicians, but that's not enough. It's just a drop on a hot stone," says Dr. Pielsticker and thus reinforces the urgency of the demands.
Time is pushing and the students get up! It is the highest railway that politics is. Without quick and specific regulations, the future of psychotherapeutic training in Germany will be on the brink! The responsibility now lies with the decision -makers - act before it is too late!
