The start of the trial in the case of the killed five-year-old girl in Berlin-Pankow

Almost six months after the violent death of a five-year-old girl in Berlin-Pankow, the alleged perpetrator is said to come to court. On August 15, the trial against the 19 -year -old accused Gökdeniz A. is to begin, as a spokeswoman for the Berlin Regional Court confirmed. The charge against him was approved by the 39th chamber and so far 16 negotiation dates have been set. A judgment could be spoken on November 10th. The 19-year-old is accused by the Berlin public prosecutor's office.

The investigation assumes that Gökdeniz A. stabbed the little girl named Anissa. So far, he has not commented on the allegations. The motive for the crime is still unclear, according to the public prosecutor.

The accused was arrested on the edge of the citizens' park on February 21, shortly after the girl was found lifeless in a bush. The 19-year-old, who has both the German and Turkish citizenship, has been in custody since then. He was a friend of the victim's family.

According to witness reports, the accused should take care of the girl and his three younger siblings on a playground near the park on this day. He allegedly left the playground with the five -year -old because she had to go to the toilet. A little later the 19-year-old returned alone.

The indictment states that he had temporarily lost sight of the girl and then searched for him. After he found the child, he is said to have probably killed it with several knife stings. The girl died in the hospital.

Since the accused was still adolescents at the time of the crime, a youth chamber of the regional court is responsible for the case. In the case of suspects between the ages of 18 and under the age of 21, the judges have the choice of whether there is a conviction under adult criminal law or youth criminal law. The level of development and the mental maturity of the accused are crucial.

It remains to be seen how the process works and what sentence the alleged perpetrator is ultimately preserved. This tragedy has shaken the public deeply and the victim's family is faced with unimaginable grief.
