Private providers of social offers from the plot of land excluded - Senate prefers individual carriers
"New land allocation in Berlin: BPA calls for equal treatment of all social sponsors"
The Berlin Senate has again excluded private providers of social offers from the current allocation of state -owned land. This decision has met with criticism from the Federal Association of Private Provider of Social Services (BPA). The association calls for equal treatment of all social institutions to ensure that the best concepts can prevail.
The allocation of the land was originally intended for single -family houses. However, private carriers play an important role in the offers for older and needy people or people with disabilities, as they provide about half of the offer. Nevertheless, they are excluded again because the Senate binds the award to the criterion of tax -recognized non -profit organization.
The Berlin BPA state chairman Oliver Stemmann emphasizes that when the community owned is allocated, a transparent tendering process is necessary that includes all potential providers. He demands that the quality of the offer should be decisive in the end, not the legal form of the carrier. Two years ago, the BPA had already pointed out this problem and demanded that private sponsors also be included in future award procedures.
The association is concerned about the one -sided preference for certain carriers and criticizes that this does not make the best supply concepts for the Berlin population. The Senate does not primarily seem to be about the best solutions for social care, but to only speak to selected providers and thereby only maintain limited impulses for future social care in Berlin.
The allocation of state -owned land is an important step to strengthen the social infrastructure in Berlin. It is crucial that all possible providers are treated equally in such award procedures to ensure that the best concepts can prevail and the Berlin population will receive the best possible care.
