Price development in July: Fuel prices decreased slightly - cheapest day to refuel Wednesday
Multi-tank Report July 2024 / Light declines in the fuel prices in July
Last month, fuel prices in Germany recorded slight declines, if only to a small extent. Moderate price fluctuations were observed, especially with Super E5 and Super E10. Diesel, on the other hand, remained constant at 1.65 euros per liter. These developments were reflected on both motorways as well as in different federal states and cities.
The average prices for Super E5 were 1.822 euros per liter in July, while Super E10 was slightly cheaper at 1.764 euros per liter. Berlin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Rhineland-Palatinate were among the cheapest federal states, while Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Thuringia recorded the highest prizes. In relation to the motorways, Hamburg and Saxony were the exceptions with the highest prices.
In the course of the day, there were slight fluctuations in the fuel prices. With Super E5 and Super E10, however, the differences with 6.5 to 8.7 cents per liter were somewhat lower compared to the previous month. In the case of diesel, on the other hand, the price fluctuations rose up to 11.2 cents per liter. These fluctuations are particularly important for commuters who want to refuel at certain times of the day.
A detailed view of the cities shows considerable price differences when refueling Super E5. Constance, Dormagen and Willich had the highest prizes, while Pforzheim, Kaiserslautern and Castrop-Rauxel were among the cheapest cities. The price range was slightly reduced to 26.9 cents compared to the previous month.
At the petrol station brands, ED, Globus and Calpam were the cheapest providers for Super E5, while Esso, Shell and Aral were among the most expensive. The maximum price difference was 5.5 cents per liter of Super E5. This information can help consumers to find the cheapest petrol station in their area.
In order to keep an overview of the current fuel prices, the fuel price compensation app offers multi-tank support. Not only the data from the market transparency center of the Federal Cartel Office are used, but prices reported by users are also evaluated. The app is also interesting for electric car drivers because it can compare charging stations and electricity tariffs. In addition, the website Mehr-tanken.de offers extensive information on the subject of fuel prices.
With a view to the future, it remains to be seen whether the slight declines will continue at the fuel prices or whether there will be further changes in the coming months. It makes sense for consumers to regularly compare prices in order to benefit from cheap offers.
