A look at the 2023 season
The GFL 2023 was the 44th season of the highest division in American football in Germany. A total of 16 teams took part in two regional groups, which were divided into two seasons. Each club had the opportunity to play a total of 15 games, including many exciting encounters with a number of spectators of 152,421. In recent years, the GFL has developed significantly through rule adjustments and the reintroduction of interconference games.
Last season, some teams, such as the Cologne Crocodiles, had to give up due to withdrawals. Nevertheless, there is also positive news: the Paderborn Dolphins and Ingolstadt Dukes returned to the GFL after successful seasons. The fans can look forward to a gripping GFL-Bowl, which is certainly another highlight in the history of the league so far.
