Police snaps alleged bicycle thieves in Berlin-Hellersdorf: Five stolen bikes secured
In Berlin-Hellersdorf, two alleged bicycle thieves were grabbed by the police. On Saturday morning, witnesses watched a 31-year-old man who invited several bikes to a van on Stendaler Straße. The Berlin police reported on Sunday that five high -quality bicycles were found in the vehicle.
The suspect stated that they had bought the bikes from a 40-year-old man. During a review, however, it turned out that one of the bicycles was registered as stolen. The rightful owner picked up his bike and stated that a tire set was also stolen.
While the police took up the incident, the 40-year-old man drove past them and was stopped. When he searched his apartment and cellar, the officials found the stolen tire set.
The two accused were then arrested. Both the van and the five bicycles were confiscated. The criminal police are now carrying out further investigations.
