Police in Neukölln: Anti -Semitic incidents before locally cause excitement!

On the evening of June 14, 2025, there were several police operations in Neukölln that are related to anti -Semitic statements. According to Tagesschau.de , a total of 2,249 motivated crimes in Germany have been registered in Germany on October 7, 2023. Felix Klein, the anti -Semitism officer, already criticized that a significant part of these crimes was only committed weeks or months after the incident.

In 2022 there were around 2,300 anti -Semitic crimes, and Klein expresses that Jewish fellow citizens are increasingly afraid to show themselves publicly. The number of visits to synagogues and at Jewish events is declining, which illustrates the precarious social situation. Josef Schuster, President of the Central Council of Jews, indicates the great psychological stress that many Jewish people feel.

criticism and demands

Klein demands that the state and society are not allowed to allow any spaces for hatred of Jews, not even under the guise of freedom of art. He also advocates a reform of the paragraph 130 in the German Criminal Code in order to combat anti -Semitism more effectively. Schuster emphasizes that right -wing extremist motivated anti -Semitism is the greatest threat because this current is well organized.

In order to draw attention to anti -Semitic incidents, the Central Council of Jews launched the #stopepeating stories campaign. The examination of anti -Semitism remains a central challenge in German society. The increased police operations in cases such as this illustrate the urgency to resolve these problems.
