Politics in transition: Renowned MPs withdraw!
Politics in transition: Renowned MPs withdraw!
Berlin - The political landscape in the Bundestag is experiencing a striking change: Alexander Gauland (83) and Albrecht Glaser (82) from the AfD no longer compete for the next federal election. The retreat of long -term politicians such as Renate Künast (Greens) and Petra Pau (left) is also surprising. All in all, numerous MPs have announced that they are withdrawing from the election campaign - including younger faces such as Tobias Lindner (Greens) and Mario Brandenburg (FDP), who take the hat off due to family obligations and exhaustion. Lindner emphasizes that politics is exciting, but not his whole life.
The reasons for the departures are diverse: frustration about your own party, personal obligations or simply the desire for a quieter life. The complaint by CDU politician Yvonne Magwas is particularly impressive about the increased social climate, which is characterized by insults and threats. In addition, SPD general secretary Kevin Kühnert announced his withdrawal for health reasons, which surprises many. The AfD has already drawn up candidates for the next elections and speaks of internal difficulties in choosing its representatives. A real generation change begins!
