The construction work on the second construction phase of Hermannstrasse in Neukölln can continue according to a message from the Berlin Senate Administration. The southern part of the street has already been equipped with bollards and now the section between Thomas and Werbellinstrasse is also intended to receive a predominantly protected bike track.

District spokesman Christian Berg said that the Senate Department considered the bike path on Hermannstrasse as "sensible". In addition, the budget is now also available, so that further planning can be promoted. As soon as the Senate Department is ordered, the district office can prepare the tender for the construction work. There is hope that the conversion can begin this year.

Jochen Biedermann, the Greens' traffic councilor, praised the district's good plans and emphasized that another decision could not have been conveyed. He hoped for an early order from the Senate Administration to start the renovation as soon as possible.
