Nursing assistance training in Germany: dispute over the optimal duration and competencies
Diakonie Germany and DEKV: Future -oriented nursing assistance training must take 18 months
The organizations Diakonie Germany and the German Evangelical Hospital Association (DEKV) have spoken out in a joint statement for a longer duration of the nationwide care assistance training. A twelve-month training with limited skills or an 18-month variant was proposed in a draft of a law. The associations are of the opinion that the training must take 18 months in order to convey extensive knowledge and to meet the increasing requirements in nursing.
The organizations Diakonie Germany and DEKV emphasize that 18-month nursing assistance training is absolutely necessary for a sustainable job profile. In a twelve -month training, the necessary knowledge and skills cannot be adequately conveyed, since patients nowadays have increasingly complex disease images. In order to be able to successfully get involved in a team of qualifications, comprehensive knowledge is necessary.
Diakonie Germany welcomes the planned nationwide framework for the training of nursing assistance forces. By standardizing the tasks and financing the training through a training fund, the role of nursing assistant staff is strengthened and the nursing teams relieved. They play an important role, especially in long -term care.
In order to sharpen the job description of nursing assistance in the qualification mix, the Diakonie Germany, the German Evangelical Association for Elderly Work and Care (Devap) and the DEKV have mentioned various points in their joint statement:
- Nursing assistance forces must be trained in general in order to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in care and to relieve nursing staff.
- treatment care tasks such as subcutaneous injections, medication, creating compression stockings or associations and oxygenation should be included in the expression and examination regulations.
- clear competencies are important to ensure qualified care for patients and to ensure the satisfaction of the employees.
The organizations emphasize the need for employees with different qualifications that support and complement each other in the team. A clear division of tasks and a clear mix of competence are crucial to gain employees for the nursing profession and to bind in the long term.
The joint statement of Diakonie Germany and the DEKV serves as an important contribution in the current discussion about the nursing assistance training. The associations are committed to a longer training period to meet the increasing requirements in nursing and to ensure high -quality care for patients.
