Traffic transition in Rosenthal: Modal lock for more security and calm
New traffic regulation ensures more quality of life in Rosenthal
At the subordinate section of the main street in Rosenthal, behind the Evangelical Church, structural measures will be implemented by August 12, 2024 to prevent vehicle through traffic. This decision by the Pankow road and green area will improve the quality of life for residents in this area.
The current use of through traffic has an increased risk of accidents, noise pollution and exhaust emissions. Many residents of the main street and the residential area behind have complained about the situation, which led to the initiation of these measures.
A modal lock is built at the southern confluence with the main street to ensure the implementation of the decisions to calm traffic. In the future, access to the adjacent land will only be possible from north via Schönhauser Straße. A turning hammer is set up to ensure smooth traffic routing.
The district councilor Manuela Anders-Granitzki emphasizes the need for these measures: "The residents suffer from the through traffic behind the Church of Rosenthal. The construction measures of the Pankow road and green space will significantly reduce traffic and lead to a noticeable improvement in the quality of life."
