Blackwork work in Berlin: ZSBS-B processes 457 cases in 2023
Last year, the central body to combat undeclared work in the state of Berlin (ZSBS-B) at the Pankow district office edited a total of 457 cases, which corresponds to an increase compared to the previous year. The economic damage caused by these cases amounted to over 2 million euros, while fines of around 108,000 euros were collected. The deputy district mayor Manuela Anders-Granitzki emphasized the importance of engagement in combating undeclared work, especially for small and medium-sized craftsmanship and businesses that are threatened by unfair competition.The ZSBS-B also carried out successful composite operations with various authorities in 2023 and was able to enter a total of thirteen companies in the craft role. Several companies were also stopped for proper trade exercise, while non -manual commercial companies had to be closed. These measures aim to maintain jobs and to secure the tax revenue.
As part of projects on the reform of the responsibilities for commercial monitoring, the state of Berlin is aiming to establish the regulatory offices sustainable. Adequate staffing is considered crucial to effectively act against undeclared work and other violations. According to Manuela Anders-Granitzki, the investment in additional staff has proven to be worthwhile.
