Award of the winning posters at the creative competition Wilder Weißer See”
On July 1, 2024, the creative competition "Wilder Weißer See" will be awarded in the park on the Weißen See and the winning posters will be published. A total of 125 designs were submitted, including contributions from various schools, daycare centers, scouts and private participants. The competition was aimed at children and adolescents who should submit ideas how people and nature can live together in the park.
The park on the White Lake has suffered from misuse and overuse for years, which has led to serious damage to the park and in particular on the habitats of the wild animals. The competition should draw attention to how important it is to pay attention to the needs of the wild animals and to deal sensitively with the city nature. Questions such as why you should only bathe in the lido, why water birds are not allowed to be fed and what should be considered during the brood season were discussed.
With this campaign, the district office Pankow would like to sensitize the park guests for the importance of the White Lake as a habitat for wild animals and inform about measures for renovation and climate adjustment. The dialogue with visitors to the park is an important part of raising awareness of the sensitive use of the city nature.District Councilor Manuela Anders-Granitzki thanks all children for their creative and colorful contributions to the competition. The selection of the winning pictures was not easy due to the large number of impressive submissions.
