Nesting box construction: Workshop for nature conservation in the Mühlenkiez

On February 8, 2024, the district office Pankow invites you to a construction workshop in cooperation with the Pankow contact point for Pankow's citizens' participation in order to build nesting boxes for starlings and sparrows together. The nesting boxes are then to be hung in the Mühlenkiez, since the conversion of the Gustave-Eiffel School requires new nesting points for the birds living there. The free workshop takes place under expert guidance in the wood workshop in the cultural market hall and is aimed at all age groups, and children are also welcome.

no previous knowledge is required because the participating skills in dealing with wood are conveyed. By building the nesting boxes, the participants make an active contribution to nature conservation in the Mühlenkiez. Registration for the workshop is required by February 2, 2024 and the number of participants is limited.

The construction work at the Gustave-Eiffel School require new nesting spots for the birds of the Mühlenkiezes. With the construction of the nesting boxes, this is now being implemented in cooperation with the residents.

The workshop offers a great opportunity for the resident of the Mühlenkiez to actively participate in nature conservation and also learn new skills in dealing with wood.
