New school in Wilhelmsruh: Office building becomes an Inge German crown high school

A new beginning for the Inge German crown high school

The school community of the future Inge German crown high school can breathe a sigh of relief, because with the move into the Wilhelmsruh substation, new premises are finally available. The former office building at Copenhagener Straße 87 was transformed into a school in cooperation with the Pankow district office to offer around 800 pupils from September 2024.

District City Councilor Jörn Pasternack emphasizes the importance of renovating the Wilhelmsruh substation for a better learning atmosphere. Through generous areas for natural sciences, music, a student club and an auditorium, optimal framework conditions should be created to offer the students the best possible environment.

The listed building, just a few minutes' walk from the Wilhelmsruh S-Bahn station, not only offers a central location, but also a unique school flair due to its architectural form. The Pankow district rented the building for five years in order to be able to carry out the renovation of the high school quickly and without restrictions.

The move and start of school of the Inge German crown school in the new object thus marks a turning point in the educational landscape, and the joy of the new premises and opportunities is large for the school community.
