The Museum Pankow will present a special exhibition from June 12, 2024 to February 2, 2025 with previously unpublished early drawings and print graphics by the artist Ingeborg Flierl. The opening will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the main house of the museum.
The exhibition focuses on a special period in the long -term work of the art weaver Ingeborg Flierl, which has lived in Berlin since 1952. Ingeborg Flierl's work includes over 200 gobelins, applications, printed graphics and construction -bound work in ceramics. Between 1956 and 1961 she lived with her family in Prenzlauer Berg and portrayed daily life in Berlin during the post -war period, especially in the Mitte and Friedrichshain district.
The exhibition previously presented unknown drawings and print graphics that were discovered in the creation of a list of works by Theresa Flierl. These works provide insights into the artistic development and the creation of Ingeborg Flierl during this time.
Accompanying the exhibition, the Pankow Museum has published a catalog with texts by Gabriela Ivan and Martin Fitzenreiter. The Pankow Adult Education Center also offers various courses that fit thematically for the exhibition, including courses on the lithograph, for drawing with the pen and urban sketching.
The special exhibition is funded by the district culture fund and offers visitors the opportunity to look at part of Berlin's art history from a new perspective.
