after the national victory: Student from Lower Saxony also wins federal competition "colorful instead of blue"
A great success for the student Gita Maali from Leer in Lower Saxony: She won the nationwide DAK poster competition "Colorful instead of blue" after she had already won the national victory. The competition is committed to prevention of alcohol abuse in young people and is very popular. Around 6,000 students took part this year. DAK health has been carrying out the campaign for 15 years and is supported by the commissioning of the Federal Government for addiction and drug issues Burkhard Blienert.
The Gita Maali winning poster is characterized by strong contrasts and artistic changes of perspective. It shows joy and despair, symbolized by colorful lust for life on one side and the stuck on alcohol bottles on the other. This message is impressively conveyed and convinced the jury. Among other things, the Federal Drug Commissioner Burkhard Blienert and Prof. Reiner Hanewinkel, head of the Institute for Therapy and Health Research, were involved.
The success of "Colorful instead of blue" is also shown in studies of the IFT-NORD. According to current studies, the posters of the same age have more sustainable than conventional warnings. This year's study showed that young people who had participated in the campaign had a lower affinity for noise than other students. This confirms the effectiveness of the prevention campaign.
The award ceremony took place on July 11th in the Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin. The high quality of the posters from Hesse and Brandenburg were also recognized, each took second and third place. In addition, a special price for young talents was awarded.
The successful “Colorful instead of blue” campaign will continue to be part of alcohol prevention in the future. It makes an important contribution to the decline in alcohol poisoning in adolescents and sensitizes for healthy use of alcohol. The success of Gita Maalis poster illustrates the effectiveness of this campaign and encourages students to actively deal with it.
