U16-election Berlin: Children and adolescents practice democracy
On May 31, the U16 election will take place in Berlin, in which children and adolescents under the age of 16 have the opportunity to vote. The initiative U16-Wahl Berlin in cooperation with the Neukölln children's and youth office organizes this campaign to give young people the chance to deal with the political system and election processes at an early stage.
The U16 election takes place in various places such as youth facilities, libraries and the town hall forecourt, where specially set up polling stations are set up. This enables children and adolescents to gain experience and prepare for later elections.
Participation in the U16 election promotes self-determined opinion formation and the critical examination of party programs. Learn children and adolescents to make election decisions by comparing and questioning party programs.
