Neukölln Art Prize 2025: Eight talents are fighting for 6,000 euros!
Neukölln, the heartbeat of the contemporary art scene in Berlin, is preparing for the ninth awarding of the Neukölln art prize, which will take place on February 14, 2025 in the home port of Neukölln. The prize, endowed with a total of 6,000 euros, attracts artists: inside who either live in Neukölln or are active there. The nomination of eight talented artists: Inside is an important step in the recognition of the outstanding art production in the district, as the press release of berlin.de . The prize money is spread over three premiums: 3,000 euros for first place, 2,000 euros for the second and 1,000 euros for third place.
The members of the jury are top-class personalities from the art scene: Yolanda Kaddu-Mulindwa, Kat Nowak, Malte Pieper, Katharina Reich and Catherine Rose Evans, whereby Nora Zender holding the jury without voting rights. The nominated artists: Inside, Rita Adib, Fernanda Figueiredo, Ida Lawrence, Tra My Nguyen, Vanessa Amoah Opoku, Asako Shiroki, Bea Targosz and Sabiha Helin Ulas, who all have the opportunity to present their works in the Gallery in Saalbau from February 15 to May 11, 2025 will be seen. In this exhibition, the decision about the award winners will finally be made: inside, as the report of the Kulturnetzwerks supplemented.
artists: Inside who are interested in the Neukölln Kunst Award, were able to apply until September 30, 2024. This Initiative not only supports the local art scene, but also promotes visibility and appreciation for creative talents in Neukölln. The commitment of the Department of Culture, in cooperation with the Kulturnetzwerk Neukölln and the City and Land Wohnbauten-Gesellschaft, is an essential part of this series of events and illustrates the dynamics and wealth of contemporary art in this district.
