Neukölln bulky waste days: free disposal and exchange markets in the neighborhoods!

The streets of Neukölln will shine again in a new light in the 4th quarter of 2024, because the district office Neukölln has launched the neighborhood locking waste days together with the BSR. Residents have the opportunity to dispose of old furniture, mattresses or electrical appliances straightforward and free of charge in the neighborhoods. This eliminates the annoying path to the recycling center and the neighborhoods are kept clean. But that's not all- there is also a chance to pass on or get hold of old treasures and well-preserved objects on site.

The idea of ​​the exchange and bulky waste markets, which have been taking place regularly in Neukölln since 2018, is simple and effective: bulky waste is collected, does not end up on the street and can be reused by neighbors. In 2023 alone, this campaign could be recycled 20 tons of bulky waste as second-hand goods. These measures are part of the new zero waste platform "Null Müll Neukölln", which was recently presented by the district office.
