On Friday, the 6. September 2024 , at 4 p.m. , the vernissage for the important exhibition "is expelled and persecuted in Kurt-Löwenstein-Haus at Karlsgartenstraße 6, 12049. The Jewish population opened during National Socialism in Neukölln". This event marks the beginning of a comprehensive series of activities at the Neukölln Adult Education Center, which are carried out under the title "Anti -Semitism in Neukölln".

This series of events deals with the complex issues related to anti -Semitism and its effects in the Berlin community. The city has taken the initiative to draw attention to the historical and current importance of anti -Semitism, since this problem was increasingly visible in society by repeating hate slogans and discriminatory statements.

The exhibition deals especially with the fates of Jewish children and adolescents who were pursued in Neukölln during the Nazi era. It extends over the years from 1933 to 1945 and illuminates the personal experiences of those affected, from social exclusion to the cruel deportation in concentration camp. Such stories are not only part of the past, but also show how important it is to maintain a collective memory and learn from history.

Education City Councilor Karin Korte will introduce the exhibition and point out the need to actively counter prejudice and discrimination. The exhibition is up to 30. November 2024 seen in the Kurt-Löwenstein house. Admission is free, which enables the entire community to deal with this important topic.

In addition, the series of events is also supplemented by lectures, city tours and workshops, which deal with the roots of anti -Semitism and its concrete effects in Neukölln. The appointments include a lecture on "Neukölln under National Socialism" on 13. September 2024 as well as a city tour of "Places of persecution and resistance" on 20. September 2024 .

The importance of such events cannot be assessed high enough. They create a platform for education and dialogue and ask the community to actively deal with their own history and the challenges of the present. By giving the victims a face and shares their experiences, awareness of the dangers of anti -Semitism and discrimination is sharpened.
