New model project Justice Assistant: Berlin strengthens young talents!
On December 17, 2024, the Senate of Berlin under the direction of Dr. Felor Badenberg, the Senator for Justice and Consumer Protection, decided on a significant step in the judicial reform. The new “Justice Assistant” model project was launched in order to offer legal trainees a valuable opportunity to immerse themselves in the busy world of the judiciary. Within this initiative program, trainees are employed at the ordinary courts for a limited period of six to eleven months. In this way, you can not only gain practical experience, but also make valuable contacts with experienced lawyers and at the same time support the overloaded judges and prosecutors. In the first few weeks, six young lawyers have already taken this opportunity, as reported on Berlin.de.
important innovation in the Berlin judiciary
The aim of the project is to arouse the interest of young people for professions in the judiciary and to promote young people in the long term. The prerequisite for participation is the successful completion of the first two stations in the legal trainee, which ensures the qualification of the participating students. The evaluation of the project is planned for the coming year to determine the success and possibilities for further development. The Senate hopes that this will also help to win new talents for the judiciary.
The details on the meetings of the Senate and this special decision can also be found on the official Rathaus Bremen website, which provides comprehensive information on the agendas and the associated Senate templates. Such initiatives are important to increase the efficiency and attractiveness of the judiciary in Germany and to set the course for a dynamic legal market.
