New life for Tempelhof: groundbreaking and neighborhood picnic

New life for Tempelhof: groundbreaking and neighborhood picnic

In the afternoon there was a special event in the Francke Park, which marked the start of the renovation of the popular rose garden. District Councilor Eva Majewski and the group leader of the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living, Christian Petermann, welcomed those present and set a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony that heralded the official work. The rose garden, an important element of the park, is intended to bloom again with this measure.

The groundbreaking took place at 2:15 p.m. and also offered an excellent opportunity for press photos to capture this meaningful day. The design of the rose garden is not only an improvement in the green lungs of the district, but also a measure that is intended to increase the quality of life of the residents. Music from the Ensemble Soulshop II of the Leo Kestenberg Music School, under the direction of Martina Gebhardt, meanwhile ensured a pleasant atmosphere and accompanied the celebrations.

Celebrate and inform

After the groundbreaking ceremony, the neighborhood was time for a sociable picnic in the park. From 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the first steps of the renovation were discussed over coffee and cake on lovingly spread picnic ceilings and an informal exchange between the residents were promoted. Visitors could also play a game of chess or just relax in the beautiful surroundings and indulge in memories.

The commissioned landscape architecture firm Werner presented the plan for the planned measure at the picnic. The guests not only had the opportunity to get to know the future design of the rose garden, but also learned from the district's project manager that further measures to improve playgrounds and green areas in the Neue Mitte Tempelhof from 2025 were to be initiated in the Neue Mitte Tempelhof from 2025.

The renovation of the rose garden is a step in the right direction to revitalize this important green area for the community. Such projects are crucial for the creation of living neighborhoods and the promotion of social cohesion. After all, the park not only offers a room for relaxation, but also a place where people can come together to enjoy their free time and make new acquaintances.
