The new board of the child and youth parliament in Charlottenburg was elected!

The children's and youth parliament (KJP) Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf recently elected its new board, with Luiza Podgórniak being elected as the new chair. The board is supplemented by other members, including Zoe Neugebauer, Ida-Marie Avemark, Henri Henkommer, Pauline Aman, David Adekunle, Connor Dähn and Juri Ciesinger, who represent the interests of children and young people in the district.

Since its foundation in 2003, the KJP has been an important voice for the youth by taking pupils and young people into the political processes. The general assemblies of the various schools and youth leisure facilities choose their representatives annually, who meet at least four times a year in the Charlottenburg town hall. There they present their political concerns and hand over the decisions to the district council (BVV). District City Councilor Detlef Wagner praised the first meeting of the new board as very successful and was optimistic about the upcoming activities of the KJP.
