New President Jörg Lichtenberg: Rotary Club Neandertal relies on sustainability!

Haan, Deutschland - Jörg Lichtenberg is the new president of the Rotary Club Neandertal for the Rotarian year 2024/2025. The experienced engineer and consultant follows the implementation of local and global sustainability goals of the United Nations (UN). In his interview, Lichtenberg emphasized the importance of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which should serve as guidelines for the future activities of the club.

The new president particularly wants to highlight the development of the sustainability strategy in order to make the club more attractive for new members and to promote social projects in the region. Educational opportunities such as cooperation with the Neanderlab and the association DU-I-I-I-I-I-IS are planned to support children with a migration background. In addition to the stronger integration of older members, Lichtenberg also aims to make the club younger and more feminine in order to create an integrative atmosphere. The Rotary Club Neandertal, active since 1990, is already committed to numerous social projects, including integration and language courses for refugee children as well as support for local plates and a children's village in Peru.
