A bang in health innovation: The Association of Private Health Insurance (PKV) now reveals the brand new venture capital funds "Heal Capital 2". This fund is all about the digital revolution in healthcare! After the successful start of "Heal Capital" in 2020, which has already supported 18 future-oriented European start-ups from areas such as diagnostics, therapy and infrastructure with more than 100 million euros, a new milestone is now being set.

At first glance, you may think, what makes the whole thing so important? The answer is simple: Over 20 important private health insurance companies have invested their capital in "Heal Capital"! Your common goal? Drive the digitization of the healthcare system and improve medical care for everyone! Thomas Brahm, CEO of the association, explains Stolz: "Private health insurance thus underlines its claim of the innovation engine in the German health system." And indeed: with “Heal Capital”, the fund is now one of the greatest venture capital funds in Europe in the field of digital health!

But here the success story does not end! “Heal Capital 2” could reach a volume of over 100 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2024 at the end of the current investment period. It is not only the PKV fund, but also a fund that appeals to the entire healthcare industry. In addition to the PKV companies, well-known investors such as the European Investment Fund (EIF), the Medice Health Family and even Swiss insurance will also contribute! This shows how much trust in the fund's innovative strength grows.

Eckhardt Weber, the founding partner of the fund, is enthusiastic: "We are proud of the previous development of Heal Capital. And we are pleased that we can now expand the success with 'Heal Capital 2'. The fact that we can trust us with renowned investors is confirmation and incentive at the same time."

What is hidden behind "Heal Capital" is impressive: The portfolio includes the Berlin dermatology start-up Formula Skin, the digitally integrated family doctor AVI Medical and the AI ​​SymptomChecker Infermedica. These companies are at the top of digital health care!
