New educational path: together upper level in Tempelhof-Schöneberg planned

In a significant step towards promoting education in Tempelhof-Schöneberg, a new bond level of the Johanna-Eck School and the school on Berlinickeplatz will be launched for the school year 2026/2027. This was officially published in a press release that was published on September 2, 2024. The decision to establish the common high school upstairs was created from an intensive cooperation between the district school and sports office, the regional school supervision and the two schools.

This planned educational association will offer students of the two integrated secondary schools new opportunities that go beyond the previous offer. District City Councilor Tobias Dollase expressed his satisfaction about the new educational path and emphasized: "I am pleased that a common path was found and thus meets the wish of the two schools. Matthias Goldbeck-Löwe, head of the regional school supervision, was also pleased with the agreement: "After a good and detailed voting process with the two schools, the school department and the school supervision, the establishment of the joint bond level in Tempelhof is a very good opportunity for the further development of the two school locations." Engin çatık, the headmaster of the Johanna-Eck school, confirmed: "We would have been ready for the coming school year 2025/26, but have been cooperative and therefore dealt with the proposal that everyone wanted to support." He expressed confidence in the commitments of the Senate Administration and the district as far as the preparations for the new upper level concern. His optimistic attitude shows the school's commitment to go a constructive way in the community.

Michael Schulz, the headmaster of the school on Berlinickepatz, also emphasized the positive opportunities: "The school on Berlinickeplatz is happy about the joint decision and the resulting opportunities for our future location. Together with the Johanna and our partners, this large, demanding and exciting project will be sure." This assessment indicates the dynamics and the innovative strength caused by the combination of the resources of the two schools.
