New entrances to Die Linke quadrupled: response to right -wing extremist deportation plans

Since the publication of the sensational "Correctiv" research on right-wing extremist deportation plans on January 10, the left in Berlin has recorded a massive increase in membership. From mid -January to the end of February, the party recorded almost 500 new entrances, which corresponds to a significant increase compared to the previous year. These figures are also only due to online entrances, since written accession forms have not yet been counted.

The deputy party leader Katina Schubert told the newspaper "Nd.Dentag" that many people are increasingly looking for political participation in view of the current threat of right -wing extremist forces, in particular the AfD and its apron organizations. DIE LINKE is perceived as the right place to get involved against social law.

The increasing number of members of the left in Berlin reflect the growing concern of many citizens about political development in Germany. This trend can be observed particularly strongly in the capital, which was considered a stronghold of the left movement. Since the reunification process, Berlin has had a rich history of political mobilization and resistance to authoritarian structures that are continued in the current number of accession.

In view of the upcoming Bundestag elections and the growing presence of right -wing extremists in society, it is not surprising that more and more citizens are becoming politically active. The left acts as a point of contact for people who want to face developments that run counter to the basic democratic values.

In the following table, further statistical data on the number of members and the growth of the left in Berlin lists:

| Year | New entrances |
| ——– | ————— |
| 2019 | 50 |
| 2020 | 60 |
| 2021 | 500 |
| 2022 | (by the end of Feb) |

The numbers illustrate the strong growth of the new members and reflect the growing political activity and the commitment of the Berlin population. What the political landscape will bring in the future remains to be seen, but the increasing number of members of the left are a clear indication of the increased political awareness and the active participation of the citizens in the capital.
