New guidelines for citizen participation in Berlin Mitte: update and adjustments
The district office in Berlin recently updated its guidelines in order to further improve citizen participation in Mitte. This measure underlines the continuous efforts of the district to promote transparent and democratic decision -making processes.
changes to the guidelines
In 2017, Berlin Mitte introduced participation guidelines as the first district in Berlin to determine clear principles and rules for future participation processes. Since then, the dynamics and realities of citizen participation have changed, which is why the district's participation advisory board brought in proposals to the existing guidelines in 2023.
The proposed changes included the integration of newly created structures such as the district advisory board and the tightening of the procedure to initiate participation procedures. These proposals were discussed in depth and checked by the district council of Mitte, especially in the BVV Committee of Social City, before they were forwarded to the district office for the final resolution.
Access to the guidelines
The updated participation guidelines are available on the website of the office for citizen participation and the social space -oriented planning coordination. Through this transparency, citizens can view the principles and regulations of the citizen participation in the middle and actively participate in the processes.
The update of the participation guidelines of the district office in Mitte strengthens the democratic values and promotes open communication between administration and citizens. By continuous adaptation to current developments, citizen participation in Berlin Mitte is further strengthened and promoted.
