New Calisthenics facility in the Trusepark on the bank of the Weig: free sports for everyone!

In the Trusepark on the bank of the Weigand in Berlin-Neukölln, a new Calisthenics facility was recently inaugurated. This system offers residents an additional way to improve their physical fitness without relying on traditional weight exercises. The facility was financed with funds from the daycare and playground renovation program and cost a total of 95,000 euros.

It is particularly noteworthy that an area of the system was specially designed for wheelchair users: inside, which enables inclusive use. This area has accessible fall protection to ensure the safety of all users. The total costs are made up of 35,000 euros for the devices and 60,000 euros for landscaping work, which also include construction work, foundation and the fall protection areas.

Jochen Biedermann, district councilor for urban development, environment and traffic, emphasized the importance of this new facility: “The Calisthenics facility in the Trusepark fulfills the wish of many citizens for open-air sports and complements the existing sports facilities. Our goal is to create free sports offers for people of all ages and with different needs.”

Due to the increasing popularity of Calisthenics systems, the district office Neukölln has decided to further increase the number of such plants in the district in the next few years. Future planning provides for the construction of further systems to meet the growing demand for outdoor sports opportunities.

The new Calisthenics facility in the Trusepark is not only a place for physical activity, but also a meeting point for people of all ages who are interested in health and fitness. This investment in public health and the well -being of the citizens underlines the commitment of the Neukölln district for a diverse and inclusive range of sports in the community.
