Musical reading: Rendezvous with Molière - Baroque music and recorder in Berlin

a cultural highlight in Berlin: “Rendezvous with Molière”

Next Friday evening, June 28, 2024, a unique musical reading will take place in the district central library “Mark Twain” in Berlin. This event combines literature, music and history in a fascinating way.

inspired by the works of the Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakow, who dealt intensively with the famous French satirist Jean-Baptiste Molière, was created a unique story. Bulgakow's key novel “The Life of Mr. de Molière” not only throws a light on the figure of Molières, but also on Bulgakov's personal experiences with the Soviet government.

Molière, who was known for his satirical comedies in the 17th century and was loved and hated by his contemporaries alike, finds an attractive revival in this special reading. The musical accompaniment of the event is carried out by French recorder music from the same time that the audience takes into the world of the French baroque.

The talented recorder Henriette Jüttner-Uchlich and Ute Metzkes as well as the experienced actor Martin Laubisch will enchant the audience with their performance. This exclusive performance promises a captivating mix of literature and music that takes the audience into a past era.

Interested visitors are asked to register for the event, either by phone at (030) 54704142 or by email. Admission to the event is free, but donations for the Association of Stadtbibliothek Marzahn-Hellersdorf e.V. are happy to be accepted for co-financing the event.
