Publishing presentation by Tulipan Verlag: A festival for children!

On October 2, 2025, the Mitte district office announced that a publishing presentation by Tulipan Verlag would take place in the Philipp Schaeffer Library from October 6 to November 29, 2025. The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, underlined the importance of this event, which focuses on the publisher's diverse range of children's books. Tulipan Verlag, which was founded in Berlin in 2006 and has had an office in the capital since 2017, puts special topics and impressive illustrations at the center of its publishing program.

Visitors to the Philipp Schaeffer Library, located at Brunnenstraße 181, 10119 Berlin, can look forward to an interesting exhibition. Here, second copies of the children's books are available for loan, while the exhibition copies remain in the library's collection. You can contact the library on (030) 9018 2 4444 or by email at schaeffer@stb-mitte.de. The library is open Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Upcoming events in Berlin

The event “Municipal Capitals – Action Days of the 37 municipal galleries in Berlin” will also take place at the same time. These action days, which run from October 16 to 19, 2025, include exhibition tours, performances and workshops involving over 150 artists. The aim of these days of action is to highlight the relevance of municipal galleries, particularly in the context of recent cuts to the cultural sector.

A special highlight is the panel discussion on October 16th, with prominent guests such as Ingo Arend, journalist and art critic; Leonie Baumann, former rector of the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art; and Dr. Thomas Köhler, director of the Berlinische Galerie, will take part. A concert in the Bären kennel Berlin on October 18th from 4 to 5 p.m. will be accompanied by the female band Angela Ordu & Free Spiritz, who play Afrobeat, reggae and blues. There is also the opportunity to take part in cross-district art tours on October 19th, each lasting around four hours and ending with a get-together at the Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien.
