Environmental design: District office Mitte plans to redesign the green area
The district office Mitte plans to redesign the green area on the resting area. The area serves as an important green and footpath connection and connects Max-Josef-Metzger-Platz, the Wedding School, the Volkshochschule and the music school with the northern Leopoldplatz. The green area is currently perceived as an anxiety, since the green areas are partially neglected and heavily overgrown. Nevertheless, the green area has a valuable tree population that improves the microclimate of the area.
The district office Mitte plans to improve the quality of stay, the ecological quality and the path relationships of the green area in order to make it more attractive again. On 11.01.2024 there will be a participation of young people through the Mitte children's and youth office as well as a public presentation of the current planning status by the Schönherr landscape architect's planning office. Interested parties can look at the plans from 6:30 p.m. in Atelier 2, Silent Green, court road 35, 13341 Berlin. The results of the participation procedure should flow into the planning and the conversion measures are to begin in 2025. The funding is carried out by means of the funding program, living centers and quarters.
