Architecture Day in Mitte: Guided tour along Leipziger Straße on June 29, 2024
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, invites you to a tour along Leipziger Strasse on the occasion of the day of architecture. The event will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. During the leadership, works of art are visited that shape the cityscape and are often overlooked. A special focus is on the architectural art of the GDR to pursue the artistic traces of city history. The tour starts at the former state council building at Schlossplatz 1 and ends in front of the message of the Czech Republic in Wilhelmstrasse 44.
According to district mayor Stefanie Remlinger, the day of architecture offers the ideal opportunity to discover art in building on historical buildings and thus make the city history and politics of the urban space tangible. The event is a cooperation between the field of urban culture and culture of remembrance and history from the Mitte district.
The leadership is led by Edouard Comere, an art historian and Campi-Fellow in the middle of the museum. The duration of the tour is about 1.5 hours and the route comprises approx. 3 km. This event offers the residents and visitors of the Mitte district the opportunity to get to know the works of art that shape the urban environment better and learn more about the history and development of the urban space.
