Increasing number of students in the autism spectrum: specialist day in Berlin Mitte.

A joint specialist day on the subject of "Networked support for children and adolescents in the school spectrum at school" will take place in the Mitte district. The district councilor for school and sport, Benjamin Fritz, and the district councilor for youth, family and health, Christoph Keller, provide information about the great challenges that bring the schooling and promotion of pupils in the autism spectrum. In the Mitte district, around 100 pupils are currently being taught in primary and high schools and around 50 in small classes in funding centers.

To face this challenge, multi -professional cooperation and networking of the actors is required. For this reason, a joint specialist day of school and youth will take place on November 20, 2023 in the rooms of the Willy Brandt School. The specialist day is organized by the school psychological and inclusion-educational advisory and support center (SiBuz) Mitte.

The specialist day offers about 150 participants from the areas of school, youth and health the opportunity to exchange ideas about essential questions in 12 workshops. Different perspectives are illuminated and the role and challenges of the individual professions are discussed. Support options and systems are also presented. In a “marketplace”, state institutions as well as representatives of initiatives, associations and self -help groups have the opportunity to present their offers.

The organizers look forward to an intensive exchange, new impulses and strengthening the network in the Mitte district. Media representatives are welcome, more information is available from the press office of the Mitte district office.
