Swimming pool in Marzahn closes: Repairs from January 2025!

The Helene-Weigel-Platz swimming pool in Berlin-Marzahn must be closed for two months from January 6, 2025 in order to carry out urgently required repair work on the stainless steel pool. This was announced by the Berlin bathing companies on Thursday. A damage caused in a competition in the pool requires draining water to make the repairs. During the closing time, however, the sauna remains open in the bathroom, which is a welcome message for many bathers.

The closure is part of a more comprehensive maintenance measure, because the swimming pool in the Marzahn Leisure Forum has been closed since November 4. There, the floor tiles in the sauna and barefoot area must be replaced. The reopening of this hall is planned for mid -February. Interestingly, during the closure of the Helene-Weigel-Platz Halle, the marking of the swimming lanes in the pool will also be renewed, which was originally only intended for spring 2025, but is now being preferred to optimize the company next year. During the closure, clubs and school classes who used the swimming pool have already been offered replacement times in other bathrooms.

updated sauna offers

To meet the visitors, the admission price for the sauna is reduced by a category during the construction work. This is an important measure because customers in the sauna have no way of using the swimming pool. At the same time, the sauna in the Ernst-Thälmann Park in Prenzlauer Berg will be renovated from December 2, 2024, whereby the sauna itself remains accessible, but also benefits from a reduced admission price.
