Student exchange between Berlin-Mitte and Kyiv: Building cultural bridges!
On September 23, 2025, the continuation of the student exchange between the Berlin district of Mitte and the partner school in the Shevchenko district of Kyiv was officially announced. District mayor Stefanie Remlinger emphasized that this project will take place from September 19th to October 2nd, 2025 and is part of an important city partnership. The aim of the initiative is to promote cultural exchange as well as education and European solidarity, especially in times of difficult conditions.
As part of the program activities, a reception by Stefanie Remlinger will take place on September 30, 2025 in the BVV hall of the Tiergarten town hall. In her speech, she will express special thanks to everyone involved in Kyiv who supported the exchange despite the current challenges. Particular mention should be made of the Ernst Reuter School, the Berlin-Mitte town twinning association as well as the donors and UNESCO, who made a significant contribution to the implementation of this project.
A strong sign of solidarity
The city partnership between Berlin and Kyiv has established itself as an important component of international understanding. The partnership not only promotes exchange between schools, but also dialogue and cooperation on many other levels. These initiatives are particularly valuable as they bring together young people from different cultures and promote understanding and friendships.
