New prevention offer for seniors in Berlin Mitte

In a new initiative, the Berlin home visits are now starting in Mitte. These preventive home visits offer a free information offer to enable seniors to make a self -determined and vital life in old age. The campaign was launched in cooperation with the Senate Department for Science, Health and Care and the Berlin district offices.

From the age of 70, residents from Mitte receive a notification from the district office for the offer. If you are interested, visit pilots from the Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. either at home or at a place of their choice in the home environment. These visits provide information on topics such as health, care and leisure activities in the area. The pilots help, for example, to search for local groups or advise you on suitable contact points if necessary. The focus is always on the wishes and needs of the elderly.

The health city councilor Christoph Keller emphasizes the importance of this initiative: "Loneliness can not only make you sad, but also cause health problems. Therefore, I am pleased that we can now also implement this offer with the support of the Senate Administration and the Malteser Hilfsdien To give, because life has surprises in difficult situations even in difficult situations. ”

The Social City Councilor Carsten Spallek also emphasizes the importance of personal approach: "We break new ways by visiting and supporting seniors at home. This individual approach enables specific needs to be responded to and ensure that nobody is forgotten. We are convinced that this direct help will benefit many people who would otherwise have no access."
