New primary school with 576 students opened in Mitte!
Today, the brand new primary school on Adalbertstraße was opened in Mitte, which offers space for a total of 576 students. The inauguration found in the presence of prominent personalities such as Dr. Torsten Kühne, the State Secretary for School construction and culprit, as well as Stephan Machulik, the State Secretary for Housing and Tenant Protection, and the district councilor Benjamin Fritz. The 49th primary school of the district is now officially part of the school network after the construction work that started on November 14, 2022 and the school building was handed over to the school and sports office in Mitte on April 25, 2024.
The architectural concept of the new primary school follows the model of the Compermannschule, which grouped rooms around a central forum and creates a wide range of teaching and learning opportunities. The construction costs for the school amount to around 64 million euros, and the building fulfills the strict standards for new school buildings in the state of Berlin, including certification with the quality level "silver" according to the evaluation system sustainable construction of the federal government (BNB).
The school facilities include barrier -free sports halls, which can also be used by clubs, as well as a modern infrastructure for sustainable energy consumption and environmental protection, such as photovoltaic systems and efficient rainwater management.
The opening of the Adalberstraße primary school marks an important step to relieve the school place situation in the Mitte district and ensure that the pupils receive an optimal learning environment that meets their individual needs.
