Kiez walk in the park district with city councils: appointment and program
The district councilor for urban development and facility management, Ephraim Gothe, and the district councilor for order, environment, nature, streets and green areas, Christopher Schriner, invite you to a neighborhood walk in the park district. The event will take place on June 6, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and starts in front of the former Schiller Park Center at Müllerstrasse 46, 13349 Berlin. The walk is organized by the district coordination Parkviertel under the direction of Birte Führing. Interested parties have the opportunity to talk to the city councils and the district coordination and to learn more about the (reverse) revitalization of different places around the Schillerpark.
During the neighborhood walk, the former Schiller Park Center, which has been empty since 2020, will be visited. In this quarter, the "Spitfire Gym" for martial arts and the table tennis indoor park "Ping Park" will open. The managing directors will present their concepts and guide them through the premises. District City Councilor Christopher Schriner will then inform about the planning status of the bicycle road on parts of Hungarystrasse.
The walk continues to the Schillerpark, where district councilor Christopher Schriner will report on the status of the path renovation. During the walk, the Calisthenics facility built last year will also be presented in Hungary, where there is the opportunity to try out the devices. In addition, further structural measures are planned on the Schillerhöhe, including the creation of a movement band between the Frauenfelder Weg and Hungarystrasse.
At the end of the neighborhood walk, a room is visited in which BWGT e. V. will report on citizen participation in the planning process and the results. Participation in the walk is free of charge, but unfortunately only to a limited extent. Interested parties with special needs are asked to report to the district coordination Parkviertel in advance.
