Discover the history of nature in the former border area
Be there when the Mitte environmental shop invites you to an exciting excursion that offers a unique insight into life in the former border area in Berlin. Diplomologist Gunter Martin leads them through the areas, which were once divided by concrete walls and are now shaped by a diverse flora and fauna.
Why is this excursion important?
The excursion enables the participants to explore the traces of the past and to understand how nature has developed according to the fall of the wall. The different vegetation structures and the variety of plant and animal species offer a fascinating insight into the regeneration of habitats after years of separation.
Who can participate and when does the excursion take place?
The excursion will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and starts at the Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station, exit Invalidenstrasse. Participation is free of charge for everyone. Please note that the excursion is not barrier -free.
