Discover, preserve, meet: Kiez walk in Wedding
Joint discovery of the Wedding Center for the Kiezklace
On Thursday, September 5, 2024, those responsible for the district coordination Wedding Center invite you to a special neighborhood walk. This walk aims to explore the living places in the neighborhood and bring residents and committed citizens together. The event takes place between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., the starting point is the coloniehof in Koloniestrasse 10, 13357 Berlin
This year the walk is under the motto "Living and preserved living places created and preserved". Several stations along the colony, bank and Gottschedstraße are visited where the participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas with people on site and learn more about their initiatives. Participation is free of charge and offers the opportunity to actively participate in the design of the neighborhood.
The neighborhood walk is not only a way to familiarize yourself with the local conditions, but also an opportunity to strengthen social cohesion in the community. The organizers emphasize the importance of these living places where the neighborhood is cultivated and a dialogue is promoted.
The route is carefully planned and is marked by various stations: First, it starts at the coloniehof, a historic place that has served as a meeting point since 1860. From there, the path leads to the meadow behind the district court of Wedding, where information is informed about current funding projects. In the bank halls there are insights into the cultural development and at the end of the walk in the Kunst-Café Cocoon, the participants can continue the exchange with a sociable end.
It is particularly welcomed that the walk is supported acoustically and that the organizers are trying to access accessibility. Interested parties are asked to register special needs in advance in order to ensure an event as possible. Registration is not necessary, which facilitates access and enables spontaneous participation.
The district coordination and the press office of the Mitte district office are available for further information. The event is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas about the challenges and opportunities of urban development in Wedding and actively contribute to the preservation of neighborhood culture.
