Last night there was a crash in Berlin-Mitte: A spectacular accident between a police patrol car and a VW. Around 8:25 p.m., a 55-year-old woman was on Alexanderstrasse when she had overlooked the waiting police car when she was overtaking by a cradle. With a daring lane change campaign, the impact occurred in which the patrol car overturned and remained on the driver's side.

The consequences are serious: the VW driver suffered several broken bones and was taken to the hospital. The 26-year-old police officer and his two colleagues were able to climb the vehicle independently despite injuries, but had to end their service after outpatient treatment. The intersections in the area were closed from 8:30 p.m. to around 1 a.m., which also significantly impaired local public transport. Both vehicles are no longer ready to drive, and the salvage even required the overhead line of the tram. The traffic investment service has taken over the investigation.
