arson attack on high school Tiergarten: solidarity and cohesion in the district office in Mitte

Last weekend there was a shocking incident in Tiergarten, which shook the high school and the entire district office in Mitte. Unknown perpetrators set fire to a car with cleaning utensils and caused considerable property damage in the six -digit range.

District Mayor Stefanie Remlinger condemned this act of violence and emphasized that there is no space for hatred and exclusion in a diverse district, like middle. The incident triggered concern and dismay both at school and in the district office.

Despite the rapid intervention of the fire brigade, the spread of the flames could be prevented, but the fire damage now requires additional means and efforts to renovate and restore the affected rooms.

In order to ensure security and not to impair school operations in the next school year, measures are already underway to remedy the damage. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but this incident marks a worrying escalation after earlier incidents at school.

District Councilor Benjamin Fritz highlighted the solidarity and support on the part of the police and fire brigade, who also praised the increased efforts to resume school as soon as possible.

At a time when tolerance and respect are of great importance, this act of the community in Mitte shows the strength and determination of standing against violence and destruction and standing for peaceful coexistence.
