District office Mitte starts implementation of the security summit measures
The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, informs about the gradual implementation of the measures adopted at the security summit for 2024. The financial basis for this was released by the Senate after it was agreed at the Berlin Security Summit in September 2023. The aim of these measures is to strengthen security in public space.

Offers were obtained and concepts were created, and in July a cultural kick -off event will take place on Leopoldplatz. Further details will be announced. In addition, the district office is planning to inform about the activities and news on Leopoldplatz in a monthly program calendar and a regular newsletter.
On the initiative of district mayor Stefanie Remlinger, a cultural offer was organized on and around Leopoldplatz in order to make public space again a place of encounter and cultural exchange. The resident of the Leopoldplatz were involved in the program design and can continue to bring in their wishes.
These measures are part of an overall city and interdisciplinary strategy to improve security in public space. The Mitte district office is actively committed to increasing the quality of life of the citizens and promoting a positive development of Leopoldplatz.
