Berlin is based on green mobility: start new e-buses!

Berlin's streets experience an electrifying change! On Monday, the BVG (Berlin Transport Companies) put the first of 50 brand new electro-joint buses of Urbino 18 Electrics into operation. This innovative bus will initially be used on line 300. By mid -2025, the remaining 49 vehicles should follow, which not only relieve the environment, but also offer passengers a barrier -free mobility. Interestingly, this electric bus is the first worldwide in which a so-called battery pass has been integrated-a digital document that provides information about the battery, including its composition and environmental effects. The financing of this exciting project is partially funded by the "Directive for the Promotion of Alternative Drives of Buses in Passenger Transport" by the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport. The BVG only has to bear the costs that would have been incurred for comparable diesel buses, while the additional costs for electromobility are covered by the state of Berlin.
