30 years C.H.Beck know: Anniversary exhibition in the Schaeffer library!
Brunnenstr. 181, 10119 Berlin, Deutschland - On June 17, 2025, an important anniversary will be celebrated in Berlin: the 30-year-old series C.H.Beck know. In the Philipp-Schaeffer library, a publishing presentation from June 24 to August 7, 2025 will take place on the occasion of this event. The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, will open the event and thus draw attention to the impressive career of this series, which began in 1995 with only 12 volumes and now comprises over 700 carefully researched monographs.
The C.H.Beck knowledge series was referred to by many as the "universal library of knowledge", as the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . It covers a variety of topics, including history, politics, philosophy and natural sciences. Ten new titles will be published for the anniversary in spring 2025, including exciting works by Volker Reinhardt on the history of the world and a compact biography by Hannah Arendt by Thomas Meyer on the occasion of her 50th anniversary.
Special exhibition in the Philipp-Schaeffer library
The exhibition in the Philipp Schaeffer library will not only present the new titles of C.H.Beck knowledge series, but also show exhibits from the history of the series itself. The second copies of the books on display will be borrowable, while the exhibition copies remain in the library stock. The Philipp-Schaeffer library is located in Brunnenstr. 181, 10119 Berlin, and is open from Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This event is part of a comprehensive cultural program in Berlin-Mitte, which also includes the “Outside listening: narrative summer”. This special event for children and families will take place from June 30 to July 18, 2025 in the reading gardens and open spaces of six libraries. Participation in the stories is free and offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy outdoor literature.
comic exhibitions and book premieres
In addition, the city library will present a parallel exhibition from May 21 to July 20, 2025, in which 19 comic publishers present its current program. This also includes an exhibition by Jens Harder, who deals with various topics with his impressive visual journey through the history of mankind, from the Big Bang to the future of humanity.
