More freedom for trade: ZIA demands relaxation of the shop opening times and open Sundays
"more flexible shop opening times: Zia President Iris Schöberl is committed to inpatient trade"
Berlin, July 24, 2024 - Bavaria's decision to loosen the shop opening times minimally, has sparked a discussion about flexibility in German retail. In view of this development, the central real estate committee (ZIA) calls on the federal states to give inpatient trade more freedom. Zia President Iris Schöberl emphasizes: "Classic retail lives from direct encounter and personal contact. We should often offer people the chance to shop relaxed."
In a time when working worlds are made more and more flexible, customers also expect more flexibility in the opening hours of the shops. Online platforms are available around the clock, while stationary trade is often bound by rigid rules. Schöberl explains: "This cannot go on.
the ZIA is primarily committed to ensuring that more Sundays are possible in Germany. According to Schöberl, all retail companies should be allowed to open up to twelve freely selectable Sundays a year. This would not only accommodate the customer, but also strengthen the attractiveness of the inner cities.
The Central Immobilien Kreischt e.V. (ZIA) is the top association of the real estate industry in Germany and represents around 37,000 companies in the industry. The association is committed to the interests of the real estate industry and acts as an entrepreneurial and association association at national and European level. Zia President Iris Schöberl leads the association and is actively involved in stationary trade.
the ZIA emphasizes that it is important to support stationary trade in times of online trading. The possibility of offering more flexible shop opening times helps to meet customer needs and increase the attractiveness of inpatient trade.
